To date, Skyworks has produced over 150 factual documentaries commissioned by worldwide broadcasters such as the BBC, ITV, and Smithsonian Channel. In addition, Skyworks programes are licensed by broadcasters all over the world through sales and distribution networks.
Skyworks has had great success with its Walks Format, starting with the returning series Wainwright Walks for the BBC (the Wainwright theme was extended with Coast to Coast). In the UK this became the most watched factual series ever on BBC4, until our follow-up series, Railway Walks, beat it. Skyworks has just finished making South Africa Walks and German Wanderlust, as well as a special Icelandic Walk show. This format has been extended to cover themed walks, such as the Norman Walks series, fronted by Dan Snow.
We are always developing new concepts and projects for broadcast, both in the UK and abroad. The World from Above is a constantly growing series of aerial journeys spanning the globe, and uses our aerial footage to explain history, architecture and landscape.
